Deliver Nao's Introduction Letter to Chief Duncan

Step 1: Meeting Nao (NPC)
When you first enter Mabinogi, you will meet Nao, who will give you a detailed description of a majestic world called Erinn. After listening to her instructions, you will need to deliver her introduction letter to Chief Duncan.

Step 2: Talking to Duncan (NPC)
Once you arrive at Erinn, talk to Duncan (NPC), located next to the big tree. Don't worry if you don't know where to go... you can open the Minimap by pressing 'M' or clicking on the map icon located on the bottom menu. Follow the quest sign that's marked on the map. Duncan will be in front of the Chief's House near Town Square. Once you talk to Duncan, he will tell you to click on 'Complete' in your Quest window. Quest will be completed ONLY after clicking the 'Complete' button!

Learning the 'Rest' skill

Pass the Town Square and go to the Inn
An owl will deliver new quests to you. If you happen to miss a quest, press 'Q' to see all quests that are in progress. Nora will teach you the 'Rest' skill, so it's important to find her. Nora will be in front of the Inn, which is located in the southern region of Tir Chonaill.

Once you begin a conversation with Nora, your Traveler's Guide will open.
Talk to her using the keyword 'Skills'. You can also obtain other information by talking to NPCs using other keywords.

Meet Ranald at the School to learn basica combat skills

Step1: Find and talk to Ranald (NPC), the Combat Arts teacher at the school
To become a great warrior, you must first learn the basic skills of combat. Practice your skills on the training dummy under the tutelage of Ranald!

Learn basic combat skills!
If you hit the training dummy more than once, you will attain Combat Mastery Skill. Open the Skills window (press 'S') and click on the 'Learn' button in order to acquire the skill. Once you learn this basic combat skill, if you talk to Ranald again, and he will teach you the 'Defense' skill. Continue to practice these skills so you don't forget them when you engage in real combat!

Earning money through simple part-time jobs

A part-time job will help you earn money for weapons and clothes
Your pay will also increase with job experience!
You can get part-time job information by simply talking to NPCs using keyword 'Part-time Jobs', or by reading the posted signs throughout town which will inform you of the job type, and sometimes even available times!
